Let Patience Have Its Perfect Work

How many times have you asked Yahweh for the fruit of patience?

How many times have you regretted making this request?

In James 1:2-4, James, whose name is Jacob when translated from the Hebrew, Ya’akov and the Greek, Iákōbos, gives us Yahweh’s perspective on trials. He explains that these trials come to test our faith, and this test of our faith produces PATIENCE. Often times, as we walk through difficult seasons in our life, it has become habit, to blame the devil. It’s important that we identify if our present circumstance is a fruit of our unwise decisions (our disobedience/sin) or a fiery trial sent by God to TEST OUR FAITH. Once you have repented of sin, forgiven others and asked the Lord to forgive you, you will discern more clearly the purpose of your trial. The Apostle Paul begged the Lord three times for the thorn to be removed from his flesh, yet the response he received was, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor. 12:9 NKJV)  It’s important that we put on the lens, James is giving us, to view our trials as beneficial instead of destructive. He explains that we are made perfect and complete, lacking nothing, when Patience has its perfect work. James 5:1-7, answers our question of, “how long do we have to be patient?”…it’s until our Messiah Yahshua returns. In order to be patient he says we must ESTABLISH our HEARTS because the Lord’s return is nearer each day. The farmer waits patiently on the early rain and the latter rain, for his fruit, likewise the Lord waits patiently on us for the precious fruit of His Spirit to be matured in our lives. The Lord is the one who sends the former and latter rain. Through every trial, tribulation, and moments of suffering, be patient and Believe Him for the RAIN! He promises in Joel 2:23 (NKJV), Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.”
